What are the odds that these four people - none of whom Kara Bonneau apparently knows - "scoured social media," found Bonneau's race bib, and thereafter created counterfeit Boston Marathon race bibs using Bonneau's assigned number? Slim to none.

I would be a little bit surprised if all 4 faked the same bib number when they could likely find other pictures of bibs somewhere online (especially because there would have to be 4 photoshop proficient, marathon ready runners, scouring and finding the same picture and recreating the same bib). Seems more likely to me…

I don't think it is the medal part that is the problem. If it is true that they did in fact buy the bibs online or make duplicates, the real issue is that they did not meet the demanding qualifying time nor did they raise money for charity.

They are all far too similar and perfect. I bet they all bought it from one scammer and you're going after the wrong people(s). Jerk.

This annoys me for sure. I paid the$550 to the BAA, another chunk of change to the charity I was running for, and then had to raise several thousand dollars for said charity in order to run. So yeah, it's a little unfair to the other runners who got their bibs justly. On the other side of the coin, what is the end…
