I fourth this. It’s a good voice for exclamations, little lines, quips, the 2-3 word phrases in mario kart etc. I can’t imagine having that voice as actual dialogue for an entire movie.

DeVito’s voice would harken back to the 80s/90s Lou Albano inspired Mario voice. Interesting to note that Martinet’s first instinct WAS to play Mario as a gruff, NOO YAWK style plumber --- which is exactly what Mario’s voice in Supershow/SMB3/SMW toons was.

It’s interesting because as an 80s/90s kid, I still hear the gruff, Noo Yawk Mario voice from the supershow/smb3/smw cartoons. I’ve gotten used to Martinet’s higher registered take but it was *jarring* when I first played Mario 64.

I’m not gonna pretend this is old hat to me. It isn’t. It’s the past half decade I’ve really started to spend time with and develop closer relationships with folks of differing heritages.

About how I am with smash bros. I've tried reading some of the deeper strats and my eyes glaze over. I don't strictly button mash but I just enjoy playing and trying all the characters.

I picked upSP after the years of praise and found myself not enjoying it. It was well made but the first level was so, so, so, so long and repetitive. Afaik there is no way to save midlevel. I had to peace out and when I came back had to start from the beginning. That was the end of me playing it.

Yknow alladin wasn’t terrible. Unnecessary but not Terrible.

I remember getting SA2 for my Dreamcast. LOVED the first level with Sonic. Then I think it was Tails and I was like, okay, let’s get back to Sonic. Then the Knuckles level was boring. Then...
