I remember in 1997, my friend was leaving a show and was handed a free cassette of "Chicken Huntin" the first Insane Clown Posse single.
As a joke we took it to our local Wal Mart and put it in a store cassette deck and turned it up real loud. We were laughing and saying "well this band is gonna last about 5 minutes"…
"Not to discount your experience, of course. The sketches are offensive, but it's also 25 years old, and I don't think they should be judged against today's standards."
Parts are cool. But it thinks it's way cooler than it actually earns, which bugged me throughout.
Fair enough, I know most everyone loves it. And I'm (otherwise) an Edgar Wright fan.
But this is Garden State with car chases.
I would like to sue this movie for the self-satisfied smirk it sports from start to finish.
Yes, double yes. Songs of Pain collects all his early tapes when he really had a weird Brian Wilson kinda thing with his piano. His most beautiful stuff is on there.
Description reminds me of Mississippi Burning, that classic portrait of the civil rights movement…..
's affect on two white dudes
"I'll just get your complementary crazy bread…"
"NO!!!!!!"
Cool, hopefully they'll roll through my town at some point.
Saw Jello with the Melvins and they did a whole Dead Kennedys set. Probably as close as it gets at this point.
Agreed. There are some real highlights on the later albums too. The TYR album in particular has a badass fantasy metal vibe with Nicholls' keyboard drenched all over the whole thing.
I've also really grown to love the Glenn Hughes era (headline picture in the article above). The song Seventh Star is an amazing track…
He's a naughty one, Saucy Jack
(as pronounced by Ozzy): OLD LAWNCHAIR!
It's less offensive to say That Directa's Crazy.
Oh man, loved that when I was a kid.
"How do you smoke 'em, Granny?"
"Well, first you just need a little pot."
"You're far out, Granny!!!!"
Yeah watching this video, for each show I was like, "oh, that's cool, yep I remember that ending", and then when it got to Dexter I just shuddered.
I loved this movie!
