Sander’s supporters will vote for anyone to assure that a Republican doesn’t win. The lesser of two evils will be strong with them.

This is it. This is the final test. Now we really know what it will take to win a Republican primary. The reaction this produces will point us North.

“...because at some point the base will have to accept that both Carson and Trump are simply unacceptable nominees.”

or never buy DLC

Just make voting mandatory, stop pussy footing around

Am I not making sense haha? Really, besides “having less freedom”, what negatives are there?

Well I guess my problem is that I don’t see taking away some freedom as always a bad thing. We aren’t free to abuse freedom of speech. Same with gun laws. Driving laws. We aren’t free to enslave people or kill people. We can’t refuse to hire or serve anyone even in our own business. Freedom as an end is not an

Ugh, we where having a great thought experiment about voting participation going into the single digits and you went back to crusading for votes.

And you can personally decided to spoil your vote, vote for Mickey Mouse, or have an option that explicitly says “I do not want any of these people in office”.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it ever happened. The more like a corporate state we become the more likely it happens. It’s certainly not a given or even likely, but it certainly is a possibility. Of course, its easy to retort that a corporate state wouldn't happen if we vote more and for actual progressives/left

Why is it a terrible idea? Did you not read about writing in fictitious characters or voting for none of the candidates? Heck, if anything it would give a viable voice to people who reject all the candidates and don’t want to choose lesser evils. Also, this at least forces apathetic people to get into the process and

They don’t literally say “no you can’t go vote”. Just like they don’t say they didn’t hire an equally qualified black person or woman for a job because of their race or gender, but guess what ends up happening.

Which they can easily circumvent and is irrelevant to the fact that many employers don’t follow labor laws, including giving people time to vote.

Well , never say never, but thats beside the point. It is absurd that no matter the voter turn out elections in the USA are certified legit.

yeah, because employers always follow the rules >_>

No, you are helping your preferred candidate to win. Fuck people who champion voting but not for anything that isn't red or blue.

Nope. Pretty sure not voting is not voting.

So nothing would happen if the voter turn out was 3% of the voting population?

What happens if only 5-10% of the voting population votes?
