Your piece on Cynthia Harrell is up there as one of my favorite posts on this site. Also, now I’m sad about Bobby all over again.

This is the content I crave.

Invasion mode always struck me as kind of a weird idea for DOOM. I’m sure pandemic development did make it a whole lot harder to put in place, but I also have to wonder if they just couldn’t figure out how to make it fun.

Yeah, I wish it had a little more health. I didn’t use Anarchy on it, but it still took like two and a half shots from my linear fusion per health bar. But I’m not here for the “this isn’t a fitting end for this lore entry” crowd. We heard it all with Xol back during Warmind. I don’t feel like Quria was ever billed as

I think the real shift in the last 10 years or so is that games are now so many different things to so many different people. How many different games are there to write about, and how many different ways are there to write about them? I’ve seen Kotaku as a site that tries to answer those questions, and it sounds like

First, Gita wins the roast.

Sad to see you go, Riley. I want to thank you for starting that How’s It Going series at the beginning of the pandemic last year. It was such a nice way to start the day and center myself during a shitty time. Here’s hoping everything goes well for you in the future.

Yeah this kinda bummed me out when I heard about it. Story stuff getting mined is usually more upsetting to me, though.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

I’m taking the day off so I can apply for jobs, but having finished Mass Effect last night, I’m moving onto Mass Effect 2 within the legendary edition. The first game is still very good, but about 2/3 through I was quite ready to move onto the second game. There’s some friction in the first game that I can appreciate,

Saw someone make a comparison to Ashitaka’s horned mount creature from Princess Mononoke, so I’ve been thinking of it as Yakul since then.

who could have foreseen this

I seem to remember enjoying the grapple/rope stuff in UC4, too. It was a nice addition the climbing stuff they had been building since the first game.

Hopefully some more Vault of Glass runs, but I have a feeling at some point this long weekend I’m gonna cave and pick up the Mass Effect collection. We’ll see how things go and if I run out of other things to do.

The only thing that has made me want a PS5 lately has been returning to PS4 to run Destiny raids with the remaining members of our group who don’t have a PC. It’s like playing a completely different game, and it doesn’t feel good there anymore.

Sakurai has earned his bliss. He should be able to do whatever he wants.

Vault of Glass returns, and so once again begins my long wait for the Vex Mythoclast to drop. I got it post-nerf in Destiny 1, so I don’t even have a clear memory of getting it back then. The only thing it was good for at that point was that one Fusion Rifle bounty. I’m hoping that the reissued version with its
