I agree with you, next consoles from Sony or Microsoft should be shooting for a minimum benchmark of Battlefield 3 being able to be played on a "next gen" console at the same maximum settings of the PC today, or i should say when it releases.

Agreed, and imo, unless either Sony or Microsoft has kept a really really well hidden rabbit up their sleeve, I think it will be 2013 at the soonest that one of their (probably Microsoft) next consoles hits the market.
