And...lest anyone be confused, I do agree it was worth the cost, for all the reasons mentioned.

Good points by all...in the end I tend to agree, projects like this while not producing immediate tangible hard benefits, I think are worth it in the long run.

Was thinking the same thing....a game like this with squad control I can think of a ton of possibilities for kinect to be used.

Try adjusting for the time value of money....this was 40+ years ago.

Exactly...Japan, Xbox keeps trying but cannot crack that market and a distant third to Sony and Wii. Europe...pretty neck and neck even with Sony.

Original Xbox was kickass, during that period it was the most powerful console...graphics, first to include mass storage built in as well as built in broadband connectivity and to online gaming.

Thats the way it goes most of the time in the lifecycle of these companies. Some find ways to "reinvent" themselves and get their "star" to rise again, and again and stick around for 100+ years. Others just fade away...time will tell.
