I would normally agree! 40 here with +3 in the back seat. Something just felt bland or less special with the R though. If I’m spending $40K, I want to feel like I’m in something more interesting than the much cheaper GTI.

I’ve been driving an R manual for the past year, after more than a decade of loaded A4s. I absolutely love this car. No one knows what it is, and they are astounded when they get in and see the leather interior, and when I take them for a spin and pin them back into the seat. Fabulous performance.

It really feels like a GTI plus and that AWD adds a whole new level of athleticism.
