Is this deal available? Says the deal was posted today at 9:52, but the pricing is not accurate. When following the amazon links I can see that the prices are $70 for the regular and $100 for the pro. Deal mentions Cyber Monday in the title and is dated for that as well, so maybe posted accidentally?

I’ve never driven a GLI in this generation, does it not come with the DCC or a mode button like my Golf R? If it does, it should have an option to create something to turn off the Soundaktor. I personally hate the fake sound as well, so I just created a custom map with exactly the same as the “Race” mode but without

Agreed! I was searching through comments to see if someone was going to mention these. I purchased a Silver 2000 madza 626 in 2003 right after I graduated college because my existing car was falling apart and I didn’t have a good full-time job yet. The only thing I remember about the car for the year or so I owned

Sounds like a good way to go. The RS was incredibly fun to drive, but since my friend was sitting in the passenger seat, I didn’t push it as hard as I wanted to. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the hell out of the car.

I think that’s fair. The Forester XT was the first to take the FA20 motor and add a turbo and the first to use the “sport CVT”. The WRX took it a step further, but the transmission just felt dead. The 6-spd in the WRX was just a better transmission period.

RS interior is definitely not as nice as the Golf R. My friend who owns a RS told me that himself this past weekend.

I own an Golf R DSG and my friend owns an RS. I drove his RS before I bought my golf and I was very impressed. it has a ton of power and handles great, but those both come at the cost of comfort.

Absolutely agree. The CVT in the WRX just isn’t good enough. It’s not bad, but just not good enough. The Golf R is proof that a good automatic should be faster than a manual.

I traded in my 16 WRX for the VW R with a DSG and have ZERO buyer’s remorse. It’s faster (in a straight line) than both Subies and the ride is TONS more comfortable. The DSG is fantastic in my opinion. It’s the best automatic I’ve ever owned and although it doesn’t have the same driver connection experience as the

To the 30 something married with kids guy I am, the Golf R was exactly the sleeper I was looking for. It may not look quite as sporty as the GTI, but it sure drives a hell of a lot sportier and that’s what counts to me. All of the driver assists are solid. Better than the Subaru eyesight.

I very rarely notice turbo lag. My previous car was a ‘16 WRX and that had way more turbo lag even with it’s twin scroll turbo. Turbo cars have turbo lag — you just need to learn the car to understand where to keep the RPMs to avoid it.

If your wife can’t stand the harshness of the ST, then DO NOT buy an RS. :) Just sayin’.

I’ve owned one for a few weeks now and it definitely does both kid and toddler. I’m 6ft2 and my 4 year old can still fit behind me in a booster seat. My wife can also sit in the front seat while we have an infant rear facing car seat behind it.

As a previous owner of a ‘16 WRX CVT (same powertrain as the current gen XT) I agree that it’s a solid choice, BUT I think the power of a turbocharged FA20 motor is overkill for Stacy and her gas mileage will absolutely suffer. The standard CVT paired with the FB motors in the Crosstrek and forester definitely have

+1 on the Subaru Crosstrek. After I read through what Stacy has been through, my immediate recommendation (even before reading Tom’s recommendation) was a Subaru. I think the Crosstrek is a near perfect solution. It’s got a higher ride height (I believe) than the Impreza, which should allow it to handle better in
