I disagree that they did "full justice to the characters and story." They were very good, but there was a pretty thick layer of cheese on them too, and the more time that passes the more Toby Maguire looks like god-awful casting. Plus, the third was a disastrous embarrassment that cried out to be rectified.

Me. I'm excited for this. I'm excited that I may actually finally get to see a Spider-Man who's actually funny. I'll take all the halfway decent, or even funbad Spidey movies they'll give me. I'll grant that I'd be fine with not rehashing the origin again, but I'll be seeing it in the theater.
