I want it! And I am occasionally in Baltimore. I seem to remember from an earlier discussion we had on Miatas that you live there now.

In short, it’s complicated. I don’t see where this could be a good choice for a high school senior. If she’s going to college, she’ll be in her second or third year of college when the lease is up, and the overwhelming majority of college students at that point are not ready to purchase their own car. At that point…
A used Aston Martin with an unlimited mileage warranty.
I agree. And buying a teen a new car is just as bad of a financial decision as leasing it. But if the car was purchased, they would have a car once the financing is over. It might need some mechanical repairs that aren’t covered by a warranty, and have some cosmetic defects from their previous mistakes that they’ll…
Now I do. But I understand how things work and take better care of my cars because back when I didn’t have the money to fix things, I had to do it myself.
The overwhelming majority of people who turn in lease cars have no issues. People like teen drivers or adult drivers who tend to treat their cars poorly(like my brother) are the ones who are more likely to get hit with these costs. These people would be in the category of people who should not lease cars.
Yes. That’s how I just got a great deal on a CPO car, and it will only get better.
In most of Philly, including where this was shot, there are no paid lots to park in. It’s street parking or your own private parking, which is also almost non-existent.
Are you sure the rent-a-cop wasn’t writing warnings? I’m sure the laws vary, but I’ve only seen them write warnings that are basically ‘Stop parking here, but if you continue we can’t really do anything about it.’
I agree. I was lucky enough to be given an older vehicle as my first car, but when it broke down I was told to fix it. My mechanically inclined father and grandfather stood and watched, but didn’t help much. I learned a lot about taking care of vehicles.
But most of the parking lot scrapes they get into are less than the cost of a deductible, so insurance doesn’t mater. But if you get a few of those then you’re on the hook for a couple thousand dollars when you turn it in.
Then why are they leasing a car because it’s cheaper? In a few years she won’t have a car and she’ll either have to lease another or buy a car.
I recently bought a certified used car for my wife with payments slightly higher than she’s paying for the lease, and it comes with 50k miles and 4 years worth of powertrain warranty and a 12-month/12k mile bumper-to-bumper. She only drives a few thousand miles a year, so repair costs aren’t much of an issue.
Actually 41.5 x 10ft. Still fairly roomy. Different versions have different lengths though. The longest I could find was 41.5 ft.
Ugh. Reading is so hard.
Neutral: Is The Leasing Boom A Good Thing?
I know. I love it. It has followed me everywhere for probably 15 years now. The maker was an excellent woodworker, machinist, fabricator, etc., and used to make all sorts of great stuff. I miss him greatly.
A friend of the family recently passed away but used to make all sorts of cool things from old car parts. I have this lamp in my office that he made me out of the end of his aftermarket exhaust from his Silverado. I have a lamp in my living room that he made using an atv tire for the base. I wish I had half the…
It would not surprise me at all if they can actually put in orders now, but the personnel at that dealership have no clue. Automotive enthusiasts are typically much more well-informed than dealership personnel.
