This was my dad’s first used car purchase and it took some convincing to get him to do that. I agree with you, and explained to him that buying slightly used is the best value. Even with buying a new ‘non-luxury’ vehicle you still get that same discount, but in this case the RX ended up being slightly less than a

On what I believe is a related note, my dad just bought a used RX. We both agreed that the new Highlander was nicer, but he bought a 2-year-old RX with 18k miles for less money than even a similarly equipped used Highlander. There’s really not much of a difference between the two. If he wanted a third row, I’m sure

Ha, I was there too. A friend had a couple of cars on display in the garage with those old Indy cars. I’m a Vette fan and liked all the Vettes in the car show.

I’m in the same boat. I’d be more annoyed at the clutch-slipping in the parking lot and out of the bay than anything. Even then, no apology necessary.

I made it to IndyCar this weekend! Unfortunately it was rain delayed until today, and today I’m working. Lame.

I’d actually prefer this because I’d rather hardwire a switch to an outlet. Replacing a hardwired light is a pain, but replacing a plugged-in light is easy, and I don’t care about aesthetics in my garage or basement.

Dangit. Oh well. I’ll settle for a ‘maybe that was the plane’.

The Prius has now taken over with these. You’re more likely to find a scrape on the passenger side front bumper though. The bumper is often split there as well. Keep your eyes open, you’ll see it.

I couldn’t hear anything, but I was on the highway, on 195. I also noticed there was no visible exhaust trail if that makes a difference.

That’s awesome! I saw one of those planes fly out of McGuire and turn south on Sunday afternoon. I wonder if that was the one.

The Denton Program, which is jointly administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Department of State and the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, allows U.S. citizens and organizations to use space available on military cargo aircraft to transport humanitarian goods to countries in need.

The SCR systems were put in place to cut down on a specific harmful pollutant, namely NOx emissions. This legislation aims to reduce total emissions, which means burn less fuel. Burning less fuel would not have lowered NOx emissions to an acceptable level alone. The changes that can be put into place can be any number

So you’re saying that fuel economy doesn’t play a big part in the purchase of commercial vehicles? That’s what this regulation is aimed towards. The truck drivers I know that pay for their fuel would love 30% more fuel economy, and the improvements would pay for themselves over the life of the truck.

A 30% increase in fuel economy in ten years does not seem very optimistic. If we don’t see that in the SUV market in the same time span simply due to market demand, I’d be very surprised. Couple that with manufacturers rolling out electric and hybrid trucks, and this sounds like a piece of cake.

Because those numbers are higher.

  1. 1a : intolerant of rivalry or unfaithfulnessb : disposed to suspect rivalry or unfaithfulness

So decreasing emissions by 25% is a bad thing? I’m not understanding your point here, or how it relates to my comment.

I’m rarely in favor of these sorts of things, but this sounds like a good, moderately ambitious goal. So 25% lower emissions in the next ten years? I think that can be done.

The cheap plastic interior? The sunroof bezel that falls off within hours every time I reattach it? The fact that I kept up with an E46 M3 and a Roush 427R the last time I was on the track?

Reminds me of a story a friend told me. His neighbors were jerks and called the cops on him for racing up and down the street in his loud car at 3 AM. So the cops show up at his house, knock on his door, and he sleepily and confusedly answers. Once he figures out what the cops are talking about, he asks if they want
