Well, for my money Bear is a vastly superior writer, but Accelerando is so chock full of crazy big ideas its a lot of fun. Theres also a really well done (I think) sort-or-sequel called Glasshouse which is legitimately ace, good characters, bonkers setting, which I think is his best book.
