Thank you for mentioning that front fender mess with that wheel arch ‘character’ bulge going all the way into the door. I beginning to think that was only me.

Exactly, every vehicle doesn’t need 400+ horsepower. Do we really need to expand the Mustang crowd into other manufacturers? There wouldn’t be a single safe Coffee and Cars in the country.
Counterpoint: it looks like every body panel was designed by a different person. At least is the Supra is cohesively ugly. The transition from the front bumper to the hood doesn't even look like it fits properly.
Allow me to state why I strongly disagee with your take and why I think this facelift is a complete mess:
Do cops still pull people over for front plates? I live in CA where its mandatory and have yet to every get pulled over for not having a front plate *knocks on wood*
Chasing short-term shareholder value is the bane of every business.
It’s a baby RC F. Which means Toyota apparently won out in the aesthetics debate (or money battle). Definitely curious to see how much more RC F’ian the 86 will be.
Fuck Boeing for their shitshow of a development and certifying process for this plane. They should’ve replaced it with a clean-sheet design a while back, and the executives at Boeing and the FAA deserve much more financial ruin than they’ve experienced.
Well, it certainly does look like a fast car. Of course it’s not actually fast, but they tried. I suspect a test drive will reveal what’s actually happening here.
Straight to hell where they belong!
The front end is ...fine. The back end is meh. The side vent running board mess is a disaster.
No one at Jalopnik (besides Tracy) really understands how long it takes to develop a vehicle, do they?
I’m not sure how I feel about the new fascia. It doesn’t feel like it fits with the original body at all... I think I prefer the old design to be honest. As for engine, I’m really curious what people will say now that they’ve addressed the torque dip.
I think the old BRZ/86 is better looking, but the bump in power is really nice. From photos I’ve seen, the new interior still looks like dog shit. Aesthetically, the Miata has this beat inside and out. It’ll be interesting to see how it performs.
Did they update the interior? Those graphics on the digital gauges seriously date this car. I would rather have regular analog gauges instead of 80's inspired digital.
I’m going to get panned for this, but I wonder if they realize or don’t care that with forced induction this car would be a car in the mold of the WRX when it came out and had almost the power of an M3 for soooo much less money. Maybe its selling fine without, but I keep seeing this car as a “good enough” effort…
The prices on these are getting crazy. This seems like a well sorted, but high mileage example. Like Rob said, short of an M3 or maybe an imported touring, this is the top of the e30 pile. Pending a PPI that does not find anything unexpected, I’m giving this an NP.
Raph is learning and geeking out, give the guy some slack. Especially when saying your chain should “never” be at an angle. They are designed for this up to a point. Otherwise were never be able to shift gears.
Exactly. Your chain should never be at an angle to your centerline. It is inefficient and increases wear. Learn how to use your gears better.
1X drivetrains is now very popular because of crap like this
