Just to be on the different side of the fence, I can't wait to get my hands on this thing.

This is mistaking Science, for "Someone who did research, then released their results to the press".
Everyone who thinks they should abolish the back button is wrong. Plain wrong. Sorry. Combined with the ability of apps to call on each other (rather than just system functions) it’s the best thing about Android.
Yes, that's what it does on my Galaxy Nexus too (without the Menu softkey) - which is what Gizmodo is apparently nitpicking about and saying it's a bad thing.
Just tossing it out there, but that “home screen rotation” nitpick you pointed out is actually the same way Google rotates the softkeys on the Nexus as well. It’s not as noticeable because the home key is always in the middle, but the outside keys follow the same rotation pattern as the kindle fire.
I'm not entirely sure that suggesting that we pass laws on something based solely upon whether we're comfortable / uncomfortable with the concept, rather than some other intrinsic features, is a good idea.
Thanks for the input, much appreciated man.
Ok, the real question: I already have a Nook Touch with GloLight, is the DPI bump *really* worth the upgrade?
If it's old, ditch it.
Horses for courses. LCD is perfect for 90% of things, but my Nook has single-gadget-edly re-invigorated my reading habit. The combination of a practically endless battery, easy use and comfort make it 100% perfect for it's job.
It's oh so wrong, but I can't stop laughing at the idea.
More likely, the water had already frozen and expanded, thus highly compressing the gas left in the remainder of the container.
I think everyone makes too big a deal about *some* OS updates, personally.
I've never written a check.
Just a general question about the Dropbox 2 step that I haven't been able to check for myself yet: How often does it ask you to do the 2 step Auth? Once when you log in on each new machine, and then how often after that?
Howso?
But . . . why? Mobile wifi is only a "convenience" if you have slow cellular data, and expensive caps.
Nope. Full volume ringer here. But then my work doesn't really involve my phone at all, so I don't get enough calls for it to become a "drive you insane issue".
Nope. Yes, it's data, but SMS piggybacks on the main frequency, in a telephone space which was originally designed for maintenance (I believe, don't quote me on that last part).
Bought a Nook Touch with Glolight not long ago and haven't looked back.
