For me the draw was always the Characters/World. RJ had an ability to pull you into each character, and make them feel completely unique. It was almost like you crawled inside of Mat/Rand/Nynave (i butchered that one) and saw the world through their eyes, down to biases, dislikes, etc.

Better? Sanderson did as good a job as you could expect for someone jumping into someone else’s work, but he still was a pale imitation of Jordan.

He does what he wants. He doesn’t have to do the “right” thing, as the “right” thing is debatable.
