I’m interested to see how TWD handles the Whisperers, which sounds like a black singing group from the ‘50s. Their introduction is one of the stronger arcs in the comics. And to the point of some other folks, it would be good to introduce them as more dangerous than they appeared this episode, what with the easy

I hated that little motherfucker - AJ that is.

Happy Fun Negan is going to take some getting used to. And are we just replacing one moral center Grimes kid with another?

I was sort of enjoying the episode until Rick showed up on the riverbank. Even the Negan break-down worked for me - all that bravado shatters when the cell door opens. It’s not dissimilar to the comics resolution between Maggie and Negan so I knew what to expect.

Oddly, I felt like actually showing the whole Live Aid performance detracted from the film. Woulda been neat if they closed with the opening shot of Freddie appearing before the massive crowd, then just let folks check the real performance on YouTube, where it’s lovingly rendered as is.

Ever see the MTV special that preceded the first film? To me that was the funniest part of the whole Austin Powers shebang. Having the character outside of narrative constraints just hosting a show worked so well.

I enjoy and appreciate horror, but I still have a hard time watching particular movies and shows without turning down the sound or averting my eyes - and I will not go to the theater to watch a horror flick. At home I can control what I see and hear, to the point of turning down the sound if a scene gets too intense.

Trump decried the attacks and blamed the media for them in practically the same breath.

I’m glad folks have been bringing up Martin, because I’m a little worried about him, too. There’s nothing online at least to point to anything seriously wrong - unless you count a few stray reddit threads - but I hope he’s OK.

Even with the delays, Days Gone By has all the earmarks of a schonky open world glitch fest.

I laughed like a loon at Gabriel’s bad ass preacher look, hat included.

I played the first two games of the reboot and Shadow’s release kind of stealthed up on me. I definitely felt the lack of buzz on the sequel, considering it’s sandwiched between two mega-hyped big-ticket releases in Spidey and RedDead2. I’ll play this eventually but not until the beginning of the year at least.

Gamers with a capital G are the oddest creatures in nerd culture, and that’s saying something. “Obtuse shitslingers,” indeed.

CDPR went out of its way to appeal to the absolute worst parts of the community - is that the audience you want to cultivate?

I love Varga and I’m glad he’s in the mix with the Salamanca storyline -there were times tonight when I got a Breaking Bad: The Prequel vibe really heavily, and nobody wants that. But the pain and anxiety on Nacho’s face when he was talking to unconscious Hector (“They can still hear things” for your requisite AV Club

Charitably I’d call it a cry for help. He knew damn well The Internet(TM) would be combing every last review he wrote for the slightest sign of fuckery.

At this point he’s protecting himself. Admitting plagiarism would be career suicide, no matter how contrite he was.

The Metroid review is especially damning - he just chucks some word salad into the original text. He’s not even a good writer! Also- woof on Stapleton’s Spacey quote. Read the room, dude.

C4'd “turn off” that’s all’s I need to know. And thank fuck for that.

In the Polygon interview Price had “zero warnings” about her past online comments, a statement that can be easily refuted by ArenaNet, so the John Bain stuff that people keep bringing up is moot. And to say Price “attacked” anyone is hyperbole - she was rude, at worst.
