I agree, and this is part of why I feel like the demo was held back a bit. I found it hard to believe that the players wouldn’t be absolutely all over the place flying around and and being much more active but this is also being hampered by the fact that this is really a Destiny clone which placed its own artificial

This was my first concern as well. The voice acting and character animations were a bit weak given the budget the title appears to have allocated.

It is very easy to move around and the construction is both durable and high quality. We’ve paired it with the Switch every time we go camping and its a blast.

It’s not so much a factor of screen size, but of the projection resolution. If I had a 4k laser projector, small text would be quite sharp and readable. For my unit which is effectively 800p, small text is pretty jagged. Not an issue for TV and movies to me since they still look quite nice and to your point of side by

I suspect outdoors at dusk might be “okay” but not ideal. Once its a bit darker or you have some shade to take advantage of, clarity of the projection will go up dramatically.

Yes, standard HDMI input here. I’ve hooked up my Xbox one, laptop, Firestick and Apple TV to mine without issue. I’m using the first gen model just as an FYI.

The hardware is quite nice, well built and works like a champ. We’ve put a few hundred hours through ours now binge watching GoT and loads of action movies. Bright, clear, good color range, easy to focus and truly portable.

I have the first gen model and I’ve hooked up my Xbox one and laptop to to play a variety of games. Games like WoW with small text can be more frustrating than enjoyable but it does work. Games like Fallout 4 work very well since UI elements are well suited to large screens anyway.

I have the first gen Mars and we enjoy it immensely. Use it quite regularly projected onto a 100" pull down screen. Plugged in a Firestick and called it a day.

I’ve been working from home for 9 years now myself. I know I’m on a freaking gravy train here and I’ll ride it as long as I possibly can.

My heart goes out to you and M. I’ve been extremely lucky with my career letting me work from home for almost a decade now and I’m on the edge of the Wasatch front mountain range in northern Utah. Honest camping in 15 minutes. Boating/swimming/paddle boarding in 10. Mountain bike trail? 90 seconds from my front door.

Was staring your comment, then saw the name. Double prizes!

Your first paragraph is the most important and something I explain to others all the time. It isn’t just the distance. It’s time differential between our very short existence and anything out there listening or exploring. Humans have been actively broadcasting noise into space for just a scant 100ish years. In

Right there with you. Much about this game has my attention...right up until the pvp part. Doesn’t need a whole story campaign but a single player mode would be just fine with me.

I could write a lengthy essay about social media but it is clear at a societal level how it can be used to influence and shape perceptions, often negatively and with unforeseen consequences.

At the time, we found existing spaces that could be brought up to spec fairly quickly with a good contractor and around 90 days build out time so our calculations came to just under 500k if memory serves.

You touch on an interesting point. When we measured market trends, Twitch didn’t exist, people were still discovering ways to use YouTube and online gaming was quickly squashing the need for traditional LAN parties which was the main driving factor for me to decide at the time to not go forward with investors.

Even talking about it now gets me kind of fired up. Sure my job is super cushy (work from home past 8 years) and pays very well but maybe I could hire the right people and not have to be hands on with the project full time. I think I could do some unique and interesting things beyond just being a place to game. I

Yes, exactly. We wanted to use gaming as the central draw and build upon that. Though it naturally slanted towards younger crowds, we wanted to ensure we marketed to all age groups and all types of gaming.

We also originally toyed with the idea of adding a few pool tables and maybe even serving up burger joint style food but both of those ideas pulled away from the more relaxed theme we originally envisioned.
