I thought that if you were actually celiac, you did need gluten-free things prepped separate? I know I had a friend in high school who said she was supposed to prepare everything separate. Not that that was always practical, but she tried.

When I’ve worked in zoos, kids could be awful (throwing gravel at the birds, wagging their finger at me when I tell them not to climb stuff), but some were the BEST. Like the little girl who brought a toothbrush for our alpaca with jacked up teeth, or the tiny boy who simply walked over to me, held out his arms and…
If I were at a Mexican restaurant, maybe I’d guess salsa, but a lot of people market guacamole as guacamole dip, so I might guess that first. Never heard salsa called dip.
UGH I don’t care if you have a legitimate complaint, NEVER SAY THAT. My first food service job as a teenager I worked in a grocery store deli with a full service, cold salad bar, we also happened to be near a VERY yuppy-ful neighborhood. One night I had a lady come up after we closed for grilled chicken breasts and I…
I am definitely aware of sloppy joes, but what I’m talking about did not have sauce or seasonings, just some onions, cheese and lettuce. Literally a burger without a formed patty.
That sounds pretty good, actually. But the ratio between ground beef and other ingredients sounds more balanced, unlike this:
Exactly. I was in town for work and went in not knowing. The texture of the burger would have been enough but the shakes had an...aftertaste.
WHAT IS WITH PEOPLE AND CARAMEL. I am 26 and only started liking caramel in the last 3 years, HOW CAN PEOPLE DROWN THEIR FOOD IN IT.
Right! And intermingling databases is something I hadn’t even thought of, but a lot of people don’t like their shopping info shared, so that’s another concern. Although, most of my coworkers agree that a computer database would be a good idea, it would just be pointless for us to keep one since it won’t help folks…
PERFECT
They do replace lost warranties, actually. They mark on the new copy that it’s new and issued on X date. They just can’t honor the terms until any necessary work is done because the warranty is for undamaged pieces.
Because it’s a nationwide program, you would need any store that’s part of it to access whatever database of warranty sign-off records exists. They would need to help maintain it because not every mom and pop jewelry store can get on site tech support whenever there’s a problem.
I’ve definitely had similar frustrations elsewhere, but I try not to beat a dead horse by continuing to complain after being told that there’s nothing to be done on their end.
You’ve heard of it then? ;)
Oh my. What tipped you off?
Just going to copy what I said to Unwholesome:
As a concept, yes, putting everything on the computer is a good idea, but the fact is we did not have her diamond check info, the sign-off system was not our idea and calling us “silly and antiquated” was not going to help. Arguing whether or not she should or should not have to carry around a warranty does not change…
I have a horrible short term memory so I often forget what I just said to waitstaff and sometimes that means I ordered my own food wrong. But since I was THINKING about what I wanted, I assume I ordered correctly and then get confused when I get the wrong size X or Y was supposed to have Z substituted. Once I ordered…
The bride story reminds me of a chick I encountered in retail, well, she was my coworker’s customer but whatever. STORY TIME, BITCHES.
