That’s proven to be completely false because when the plan is finally revealed to Poe he’s like “That could work!” and he gets behind the plan.
The thing is, she doesn’t act inexplicably. Her actions are fairly reasonable throughout the film.
It’s really too bad they didn’t have some people more familiar with the Star Wars universe to help him with the script. Lucasfilm really should have had a competent writer come up with a story for the new trilogy before even starting to film the first movie.
I know. Instead of treating Poe that way when the First Order suddenly reappears they should have been like “Oh shit. They’re tracking us. If that dreadnought hadn’t been destroyed we would be toast. Poe, you may have disobeyed orders but in hindsight it was the correct decision.”
In hindsight though he saved the entire fleet by destroying the dreadnought since they were being tracked by the First Order and it simply would have followed them with the rest of the First Order and destroyed them anyways.
That excuse doesn’t make any sense. Everyone on the ship knew they were refueling the shuttles and no where does the film illustrate that Holdo needs to keep anything secret for any particular reason.
The Last Jedi is just a typical Hollywood special effects film. It doesn’t even deserve to be mentioned with films like Mad Max Fury Road and Blade Runner 2049 which go above and beyond.
Defenders of The Last Jedi are practically bending over backwards to explain away plot holes and poor writing decisions. Fans of this film have done more writing on TLJ than Rian Johnson ever did.
A good general knows how to keep the troops from breaking due to poor morale. If Holdo were a capable commander the mutiny never would have happened. People joined Poe’s mutiny because they trusted his judgement and believed Holdo was leading them to certain death.
Good point. The answer is obviously because she’s acting suspicious and the film leads us to believe that Poe, Finn, and Rose’s plan is the correct course of action every step of the way until suddenly it tells us that Holdo had her own plan all along and that Poe was just being brash and stupid.
The whole thing where Rose chided Finn for trying to sacrifice himself to stop the battering ram laser is totally hypocritical too because only moments earlier Admiral Holdo sacrificed herself by staying behind on the flagship (why they couldn’t just set the cruise control is not explained of course).
