Most of the objections you mentioned in your post are not relevant to this situation and is collectively a big ol pile of deflection, which is the game cops most love to play when it’s time to rationalize their abuse of power.

Left out of this comment is the weight difference between vehicles and protestors. A 3 ton Ford Explorer vs a pedestrian on a bike is very different from 400lbs of angry people punching a door mirror. Literally no property damage is worth someone’s life. I think someone’s just mad that the explicitly counterculture car…
The boot licking and mental gymnastics makes them very limber.
You know what we call people who think street execution is OK?
Civility breaks down when the enforcers of order are allowed to act like this unchecked. It is obvious that any and all benefit of the doubt when it comes to LEO behavior is suspect given how many times bystanders or, in this case, a video doorbell.
I am amazed you can type and fellate yourself at the same time.
becuase it’s irrelevant to the officers behavior in this case. Police are not allowed to murder someone just because they can. To protect and serve, and this goes for people their chasing too. Sometimes they have to protect them from themselves.
if you’re this worked up over needless destruction of replaceable property? where exactly have you been during the needless destruction of life which precipitated it? you know, human life? the people around you? why were you not as angry over the continuous destruction of black life as you are over a week of broken gla…
Oh, go take a flying fuck at the moon.
Exactly. Their job is to apprehend suspects and put them behind bars, not to dish out punishment without a trial.
“When civility breaks down... you get incivility.”
I figured the person was run-over.... by the headline saying so. Someone run-over by a car doesn’t limp anywhere. Still unacceptable, and worthy of investigation, but this article is horrible at objectively portraying facts.
Another particularly alarming trend is the use of crowds of protesters to attack vehicles. No mention of presumably innocent drivers being beaten nearly to death on Minnesota Interstate Highways.
Your haircut =\= people's lives
When the sclooting starts the schooting starts.
You do understand there’s a difference between protesting best health practices for the sake of doing so in a purely petulant, selfish fashion; and being well past pissed off and standing up for actual civil rights and social justice, right?
I hate to be pedantic, but they stopped being scooters when they decided to participate in the breaking down of storefront windows. Now they’re sclooters and I just can’t get on board with that.
Agreed. I backpacked through Europe last year and they were a godsend in many places. Scooters allow you to hit many more sites in a day than public transit and they’re much cheaper than cabs. I wish there weren’t accidents or buffoons, but I don’t think we should throw out, or in this case, burn down, the baby with…
“I’m getting my ass beat! Have you seen this? Have you heard about this?”
“Believe women” means when a woman makes an accusation, it should be taken seriously, viewed as credible, and an unbiased, thorough investigation should be conducted. It does not mean to continue to believe women regardless of what is discovered. As you said, there are many, many, many reasons to question Tara Reade’s…
