Heck, it isn't even that for me. It fills me with a great sense of hope and admiration. I'm more apt to look up to Supes than want to be him. That's the benchmark I have for Superman portrayals.
Superman: The Movie. It takes Superman seriously while still keeping the positive, hopeful tone of the comics. Superman II was good too, in spite of giving Superman some...odd powers.
From the man that later brought us Captain America.... The Rocketeer!
Evil Dead is coming back in a big, big way, people. Original creators Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert are joining forces to…
To this day I still say Eli's coming when I feel like something bad is around the corner. I am actually psyched for a Sports Night reunion.
Maybe I'm weird, but I was more excited to see Josh Charles and Peter Krause on the cover together there. Really a shame it only lasted 2 seasons. Loved that show.
Maybe I should be excited to see Murray acknowledge that he was in a film called "Ghostbusters". But I'm missing Egon so much right now.
Argh! Did my memory transpose Rand with Martine? I am deeply ashamed, and bow to your superior geekness.
It was his superior, his fiancee, who was in red! :-) ( flies geek flag)
For my grad film school screenwriting class I held this up as an example of a perfect script. DC Fontana is/was utterly brilliant, and the acting by the cast and the camera work is amazing. I wonder, sometimes, if The Wrath of Khan didn't drag Star Trek up out of the muck of pulp scifi all by its strength. There were some good moments in Trek before that, and I'm one of the rare folks that actually like The Motion Picture, but tWoK brings so much character and oomph to the franchise that it lingers well…
Oh, yeah. That's one of my favorite pieces of trivia. They should have gotten another teen idol to be the doomed Zac in the reboot.
It's getting meta in here.
Okay. Hear me out. In the original BSG Apollo's love interest calls him out on always volunteering for the dangerous missions saying he's really trying to kill himself because of the pain. That means every time Apollo rushed into the jaws of danger he was actually trying to get his head bitten off. I liked the idea…
What I've learned from a few decades on the Internet (and, honestly, in real life): If you're a George Lucas hater who thinks he's some kind of evil or done more harm than good to movies, there's a very high chance that you're either A) uninformed or B) a massive tool.
Not bad for a Canadian. :)
They killed of Sweets, too?! Now I'm really glad I stopped watching when I did.
