they celebrated Pride this year by releasing a bunch of super cute shirts that I all vaguely want. I think you can still grab them from target.com/pride, too. Full disclosure: I work for target. Low level management BS. When they hired me about 50% of my management team (myself included) was gay. Pretty rad.

wow this is a painfully pointless article. Is there a "most pointless gawker article" award they're giving out because this is a serious contender.

I really wish I could believe this was a troll. Sigh.

Funnily enough I'm not even the original person who "incorrectly" mentioned condoms. I'm just some lesbo who hates it when people pull this "you didn't include everyone so THAT MEANS ERASURE!!" bull.

Well obviously because someone didn't think carefully about all those possibilities and make sure to explicitly include them when commenting on a story about someone with a penis having sex, that means they're being heteronormative! And their comment must be derailed to chide them for it!

trigger warning: I don't like having to carefully groom every sentence of casual conversation to make sure I am explicitly including every possible configuration of gender, sexuality, or type of intercourse one feels like having

It's common enough in my experience. And I put condoms on sex toys too. Plus gay men have sex and use condoms, so... I just don't see the heteronormativity of condoms. At all.

possibly. I'm a lesbian and I think this woman is full of shit.

I'm not talking about dictionary definitions, I'm pointing out that they were discussing the topic on a story about STDs. Saying "of course you use condoms" makes perfect sense. Also trying to erase the fact that lesbians DO use condoms without a man being present is pretty counterproductive of you. "Use a condom"

also can you please explain how condom use is "heteronormative" when both male and female bodied people use them with members of the same sex?

No one was actually "defining sex" as that, they were having a discussion based on the above story. Context.

do we REALLY need to add asterisks and clauses to things that should be painfully obvious when taken in context? Also: there are female condoms. Lesbians (I am one of these FYI) also use male condoms, cutting them for use as dental dams. Stop being so nitpicky and smug, please.

Katy Perry makes me feel like putting a plastic bag over her head. So, close.

They should just mocap her for Unity. Problem solved.

I would feel a lot more sympathetic toward taxi services in their fight against Uber if I had ever had a good taxi experience in my life. I've taken taxis in many cities - LA, San Diego, New York, Boston, Las Vegas - and every. Single. Driver. Has been an asshole to me. And most of them are late, and the service is

Is it weird that I don't think FFVI holds up as well as FFIV? I find FFIV's writing more charming, where FFVI's Woolseyisms are a bit clunkier and not as iconic. FFIV was also straight fantasy (with smatterings of sci-fi), whereas FFVI tried to blend steampunk/fantasy/science fiction to uneven effect. I still love VI

I'm with you on this, actually. It's a stupid joke but there's nothing overtly offensive. Maybe I am just grossly desensitized to fluff like this. Shruggin'.

Facts of the situation = liberal talking points?

What do you mean by "close the border" - you mean just build a giant wall blocking Mexico off?

So, why do you think children are traveling so far and risking death? You must have all the answers, you just don't feel like sharing them?
