So Valve wants to monetize virtual discrimination?
@Bubbleman!: I hear you, but that sounds like a smart Mom to me, not necessarily a ridiculous one. Not because of the PSN outage making it unsafe, but I'd wager most parents don't even know about the web browser in the PS3 (and subsequent ease of access to porn and whatnot). If I was a parent I'd have those security…
@TrainerRed: I can't wait for the day when somebody has the balls to make a military shooter in which the United States military are the bad guys...
@SSgtTEX: Congratulations!
YAWN. I so over CoD games, but despite the fact that Activision will never get another cent from me, I hope the keep making 'em for years to come.
@Teran: Isn't it though? Because Russians aren't the bad guys in movies anymore they aren't relavent. If you actually bother to, uh, read the news, you'd know that's not really true.
I think I'm the only one posting here who actually doesn't have a serious cognitive dissonance with the idea that murder is never justifiable. It's called moral character- my mother made sure to raise me with some.
Really? Bush declared war on Iraq. The entire country had nothing to do with 9/11. We invaded on the grounds of fabricated suspicion, and never found the weapons we were so sure they had. Every single person who has died in Iraq and Afghanistan was a non combatant until we invaded those countries without…
All I'm saying is that the vitriol we receive around the world from whatever group you want to pick is very motivated by our foreign policy. Nothing that has happened in the history of the Unites States, when it comes to others trying to attack us (outside of Pearl Harbor) was unmotivated. We bring it on ourselves,…
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
I'm waiting for the PSN release... also, I am waiting for the PSN. Still- if you have a Wii and have not played it, no more excuses!
I love Sony, and the PS3 is the best console they've put out there. It's just a hell of a ding to their brand credibility that will take a long time to mend.
What an insightful response. Basically: 'because I said so'. Why exactly is one group celebrating death and murder different from any other? Because it's 'our side' who's doing the celebrating? I don't think so.
So is Bush then also a murderer for declaring the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? He didn't kill anyone himself but he told people to, so that makes him a murderer as well, by your definition. Seeing as we are indeed calling Bin Laden a murder for his association to 9/11, even though he wasn't actually there. Not trying…
I wasn't saying that the difficulty curve doesn't change things, but when you go back and play any single player mission in CoD for a second time, you quickly realize that everything, from scripting triggers to spawn points to weapon locations is exactly the same every single time you play it. There are no surprises,…
@Rock: "Are we seeking power for power's sake? Or are we seeking to make the world and our nation better places to live. If we seek the latter, violence can never provide the answer. The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of…
@Surreal_Sunshine: Nevermind that those battles, on every single playthrough, will play out exactly the same no matter how many times you play it.
@70x7brandnew: Oblivion and Fallout 3 aren't really linear at all... other than perhaps the leveling systems, or if you only followed the main story quests (which is practically impossible anyway). They are also hands down my favorite types of games as a result.
Simply put: Linear is boring.
