Not surprised at all. BMW has a long history of underrating their engines. From the 2.8 straight six in the E36 328i to the N54 in my 335xi, the Bavarians are notorious for understating and overdelivering. I wish more car companies were like that.

Just tells you the generation and vehicle type basically. It doesn't specify engine, transmission, packages, etc. unless you specify the model (for example, E30 M3 = First generation M3).

Yeah I think so. I mean, it doesn't have the power or AWD grip of the WRX so ultimately its limits are lower but it's just a ton of fun at all times. I might look at a MK 7 GTI too. I'm gonna go test drive one today just for fun

I gotta agree. They look nice and have fun, revvy little engines but I'm not a fan of the handling at all. Feels big and slow with tons understeer.

Can they put a steering wheel in it that doesn't look like its from 2005? Or put a manual in anything. Like Pagani will if you pay the equivalent of three of them.
