How will it compare with the Ford Maverick? Overall the Mav looks like it will a little cheaper, but those two are the ones I’ll be cross-shopping in 18-24 months.
“At that point we’ll have the same problem we have right now.”
And we do have viable electric non-Tesla options now.
“you either love Tesla and all the connotations it comes with, or you’re suspicious of what it’s peddling”
On the flip side, you can easily argue USA is ideal for EVs, given more than half of homes have a garage or carport, which not anywhere near true in many countries.
As an European, this is very true. Even though our lifestyle is probably far more adapted to EVs than the US the inconveniences are still there. Up to the point that I still wouldn’t consider an EV as my next car.
Nothing you said will discourage the external view that Americans are insular and don’t know or care about the rest of the world. However, that’s just a crappy generalisation - it’s unfair to judge any individual you might meet based on such a thing. What is ‘wrong’ is assuming that Americans are the only people who…
Hardly, they have built and shown multiple pilot units.
No mention of the Mach-E? Its cheapest AWD form is $45k so it’s no cheaper than the VW but surely it should be on the list?
$10k is barely affordable. 20K is “inexpensive.” 30K is “reasonable.” 40K is “entry level base luxury”. Everything above that is luxury at different levels.
20k is average
pricey, generic looking, generically named box of boredom
I own an ID4 and that is for Regen Braking. I think the gear selector took me about 2 seconds to figure out.
The Ford Maverick isn’t an EV last I checked.

Another Tesla hit piece from pedo TSLA shorting Jalopnik. We all know who pays your bills. Y’all secretly run by Ford. We’ve seen that sick ass Leaf you drive Bradley, we know you’re in the pocket of the big used Nissan Leaf conglomerate.
If Tesla under promised and over delivered it would be Porsche.
Given there are public roads with 85 mph limits, at least some buffer above that affords safety for merging, passing and other maneuvers.
You think someone deserves to get PIT’d because they wanted to find a safe spot to pull over?
