That CSL is art. Even not that long ago(well sorta long ago, the E60 came out 15 years ago), their cars were sleek and handsome.

I’ve always been partial to the late 90's - early 00's era BMW’s. But that’s when my family started buying them and I got really into BMW’s.

Before or after rebates? It is often close to $20,000 cheaper after rebates. No one is buying a$37k bolt. ~$25k(rough selling price) for a 250mi EV doesnt seem too bad to me.

The Bolt would do better if they simply put in better seats and let it charge above 55kw.

The e-Golf has been here since 2015. I own one myself. It was a decent option in 2016, but it’s obsolete now. I’m holding on to mine simply because I don’t have a long commute and the other options are just too expensive for what I’d get by upgrading. 

The competitive landscape has changed, as the post notes. VW wasn’t selling all that many of them, and there are too many other, better options.

That makes a lot of sense. I forget to take the “you walked into a dealership” discount that Chevy puts on everything into account. I actually like the Bolt for what it is, but I feel like people automatically skip over a compact hatch at that price unless they’re getting into a Golf R

Theory: The Bolt would probably do better on the market if the styling was more “small crossover” and less “glorified Spark.” It’s actually pretty tall, so they could pull that off.

Before leasing my Bolt last November, I was leaning towards the Model 3, but went with the Bolt because of all the money they took off the vehicle. Once that was factored in, the Bolt was a lot cheaper. It’s not as nice, but it does the job for strictly commuting purposes.

Not a lot of other cars going for $30k at that mileage. Like damn.
