Something terrible on the moors

This seems like a strange choice for HVH, not least because it actually played in theaters this year. But also, it’s quite good, and much more ambitious than the usual fare. One of my favorites of the year, in fact; I’m much more likely to rewatch it than High Life or Ad Astra.

Re: the episode hosted by Alex Trebek - wasn’t that an April Fools’ Day episode, where Pat and Vanna were the contestants? It’s not as though he was on a week-long bender and missed it.

Never been a big fan of Celery Man.

LOOK AT ME.

Can someone tell me how much of this book is new material, and how much was previously published in Acme Novelty Library? The only thing that sounds new is the Joanne story. I’m still going to get it eventually, but I’d like to know how urgent it is.

I mean, maybe, but only if they fix the aspect ratios so I don’t have to watch them all squashed. Otherwise, I’ll stick with my DVDs, thanks.

He is a bad actor and I hate this news.

You’re giving this dolt far too much credit. Everything he does is chaos. Each part of it just distracts from every other part of it.

I can do an impression of you. Ready? “Gamble, gamble, gamble, diiiiiie.”

Different strokes, and like I said, I’m already resigned to having a relatively unpopular opinion about JIC (plus I hadn’t read that manga before I saw it), but when she announced she was coming over, I audibly gasped. Something about that vocal performance...

I watched it all and highly enjoyed it; afterwards, I was surprised to see the reaction online was mostly pretty negative. It’s a mixed bag, but so is a lot of Ito’s work. For fans, I’d recommend at least episodes 2, 4, 6, and 7; in particular, “Window Next Door” creeped me the hell out.

I saw it on a Delta flight. Being on an airplane is not the ideal way to watch anything, but I was just so excited to see it there.

Yes, grown-ups should spend their time on worthwhile endeavors, like reading internet articles about things they have no interest in and making snide comments about others for enjoying them

Man, I miss that Laird Barron. I have zero interest in what he’s doing these days.

Tiny Danson Man.

I’ve only heard the name Thomasin in two places in my life: Anya Taylor-Joy’s character in The VVitch and Thomasin McKenzie in Leave No Trace. And now, at long last, they’re together.

It’s less terrible for the planet. And given the extremely dire straits our planet is in (at least as a human-hospitable environment), I don’t mind paying a little more, if only to send the signal to fast food franchises that people are willing to support meat alternatives.

Not that either is a bad song, but why is the entry for “Starálfur” all about “Svefn-g-englar?”
