That’s a very easy take to have, considering machines are not capable of suffering in agony. At least not yet, I’m sure as soon as humankind finds a way to make them suffer, they will. And then the majority of people will turn a blind eye to it.

I’d assume the (intentionally) limited scope of United 93 is what’s keeping it out of the conversation here. But I take issue more with your dismissal of the last 15 years of Nicolas Cage’s career. Even leaving aside his trashier output (and that’s hard for me, since Mandy may be my favorite movie of the last ten…

Judging by how many people have mentioned it, and the fact that you haven’t even touched on it, I’m assuming you haven’t seen Mandy. So if you’re looking for classic Nic Cage performances and not finding them, but you haven’t bothered to watch Mandy, you have no one to blame but yourself.

In Jackass 2, Knoxville riding a big red rocket into a lake and something shoots violently out of the side of the rocket. If the thing had been rotated 30 degrees when he got on it it would have torn him in half. Of course, he immediately gets on and tries again.

“Who around here has two thumbs but very little else going on, hand-wise? I am such a man.”

“Hey, where’s that ship headed?”

Can’t we just rent Sack Lunch again?

I also enjoy how he gets a bit more loosey-goosey with each song, presumably to represent his declining mental health as time goes by.

I love this movie. It could really use a cleaned-up Blu-ray release, although I suspect it looked kind of grubby to begin with.

I don't feel like they're obligated to mention a movie that bears a passing similarity to this one and came out nearly a decade later.
