Thanks for saving me from having to make a similar comment, though probably incoherently due to that disparaging dig. I’m sure he has no clue that her geography degree is under the social science and has probably subjected her to some levels of analytical data insight, at least much more than he realizes. Not to

There is zero chance that DeSantis has any idea what qualifies a person to be a data scientist. I worked for a data science firm, this is so far beyond that human potato. Plus his inane sputtering (spuddering? amirite?) really lends credence to what an ignoramus he is. I cry every time I think about how close we were

She has a dual degree in Geography and Journalism from Syracuse University. She has a Master’s Degree in Geography and Mass Communications from LSU. Her thesis was working with satellite imagery and change detection. Her background is in GIScience, which is more hardcore data science than pretty much any data science

They won’t find proof of her degree because it doesn’t exist.... yet. She’s working on her PhD, not completed. She seems to be at the dissertation stage, so informally you can say she’s completed all the requirements for a PhD except the biggie. Those things take time. Lots and lots and lots and lots of time.

Speaking as a professional geographer who has been engaged in data science for the better part of 20 years.... Go Fuck Yourself DeSantis.  It’s clear to me you need a remedial course in Geography.

I had to look it up, but in addition to the situation with DeSantis, Stephan Nelson, the chairman of the Florida Medical Examiners Commission, is accusing state officials of stopping the release of COVID related deaths reports that the Commission was regularly publishing. He also accused them of requesting to fudge

Myself and many of my colleagues need to be fired apparently, since our degrees very loosely tie to our actual day to day work.

That’s a Republican speaking. Academic achievements are liabilities in their book.

Wait, I thought her diss was that the state was withholding data for politi–Oh, wait. You mean “diss” as in “dissertation”! Got it.

Right? Geography involves a fucking huge amount of data processing.

OK, the first subject got me all riled up and I skimmed through the rest (full disclosure).

The firing of the IG is the Streisand Effect in full swing. Who knows what the investigation into the Saudi arms deal would have ultimately turned up or when/if the findings would even have been made public, but considering we’re in the middle of a pandemic and an election season it would have to have been something

She has a degree in three things because one of them is an MS. I hate DeSantis with the fire of a thousand sunshine states.

Agreed. Real person fanfic is gross on Tumblr and ao3, and it’s just as gross in this.

Christ on a cracker. Hasn’t Hillary been through enough already?

He looks sweet and young, and more power to them. I’m always relieved to see that it isn’t some older, rich guy preying on the young women. Let them be kids and make out in the booth of a diner! It’s Spring! :)

Sure do. These people are not only fine with mass deaths, at this point they’re lining up at the knife-sharpening machine. They really think a “few” deaths of “those” (never them, never their family) people is all that it’ll take for this virus to magically vanish and everything go back to normal.

At least he actually does the job. So many interviewers just let whoever it is say whatever crazy, dangerous thing and just kind of nod.

I suspect they’re investigating it. The big outlets aren’t going to touch this without their own investigation/confirmation, and the virus probably throws up a lot of barriers to fact-checking. (Like ... Reade mentions reporting Biden to the Senate personnel office. If a reporter wanted to check if there was still evid

I honestly and truly don't know what to believe anymore. The only ONLY thing I am sure of is that I will vote for whoever is running against Trump.
