Not just gerrymander it back, but force every single state to draw districts by independent commissions, not the politicians themselves.

I’ve never been much into horror books (or movies, either). I tend to prefer the light and fluffy for escapist reading, horror makes me think too much! Dean Koontz is one of the few authors of that genre that I like. He’s a master of psychological terror (one of my favourites is The Door to December). Read more

II finished reading The Wise and the Wicked this week, Which was a random pick up but much better than I thought! If a bit predictable. I also finally had my whole to come in for Muse of Nightmares, the sequel to Strange the Dreamer and I loved it, such a good and delightful read. Read more

I second this - Indian style okra is really good. One place I used to go to had a really good indo-chinese dish called okra manchurian, though it was clearly fried. But I’ve had good okra in other Indian curries and such too.

I volunteer to take it all off of your hands! I love okra (fried, in gumbos, in stews, pickled)! I remember hearing once from my dad that there is a way to prep it so that it isn’t so slimy, but I can't remember exactly what it was. If slime is the primary problem, a google search might bring up the alternate prep Read more

Hmmm. okra is used a lot in Indian cooking...maybe add it to a curry? I know most cooking blogs have a thing about making okra not slimy so maybe that would help? Alternately do you have a neighbor who loves it? (Or a frenemy who hates it but can’t refuse such a generous gift? Evil grin)

Caribbean/Guyanese recipes are a decent bet and how I’ve eaten okra over the years. Tends to be more flavorful than traditional Southern style okra as well. Garlic, tomatoes, other spices. There are a bunch of different recipes online, though I got mine from an old old cookbook from Trinidad.

My beef with the Lisa Frank apartment is that we go crazy about that yet pick on a teenager (Jojo Siwa) for having a similar aesthetic.

The real goal here isn’t to get the bill passed, but to add to their persecution complex when it fails.

I come from a country where religious courses are offered at every state school. Religious classes can be faith based (usually in line with the local population - mostly catholicism, protestantism and islam) and every school has to include a non faith based option. Can be called ethics, philosophy or something Read more

She was also the one that proposed the bill that all public schools in Florida must now display “In God We Trust.” Her district seems to be majority Democrat (the Republicans didn’t even run a candidate last election) which is why she’s a Democrat on paper, but she’s definitely a Republican in sheep’s clothing. She Read more
