Buttigieg’s slogan:
Buttigieg’s slogan:
My take on the debate performances (other than the fact that is two 3 hours of my life I’ll never get back and there were too many damned candidates on the stage):
So I like to look at post debate analysis briefly by CNN and MSNBC just to gauge what the centrists are going to say, because a lot of voters do watch those stations. CNN praised Buttigieg. MSNBC, I kid you not, called Warren “petulant”. PETULANT. They would NEVER call a male politician “petulant”. The sexist…
Being in the mid-single digits for months on end, even after other candidates have come and gone IS flagging. The election is officially a year away and people have been campaigning for almost a year. He came out strong (when mid-single digits were good!) and hasn’t managed to increase his showing despite months of…
lol I don’t think so. This was just the first place I saw have an article about him and I earlier saw him on twitter pulling the same shit today. I had to let it out. I would rage about Amy Klobuchar, but she’s not worth anyone’s time.
I also get annoyed anytime Mayor Pete talks about “people in the Midwest” like like the Midwest is a monolith or like Elizabeth Warren can’t grasp the Midwest. He uses “the Midwest” as a code word for conservative, rural, working class, etc. in an attempt to paint Warren as an out-of-touch East Coast liberal. Well,…
It is curious that the moderators keep pounding this point like it’s some explosive gotcha, because there’s a clear answer that simply takes more time to explain than they can give with 53 candidates on stage.
Warren is my distant second choice, but it’s really funny to watch just how bad most of these guys are at attacking her. I also appreciate that this shows just how silly the attacks on her and Bernies plans look, and how easy they are to swat away.
No outlet more perfectly describes limousine liberals other than the Jacobin. They regularly stand up for oppressive regimes because they are blind ideologues with no concern for the so-called common people they claim to speak for.
Doesn’t help that the common conception of “middle class” is too broad. And everybody making over, I dunno, like $150k in household income should see a net increase in taxes larger than what they receive in additional benefits, sorry. Time to take care of the poor.
But Warren, now a frontrunner, will have to come up with a better answer to the question of how to pay for Medicare for All
Yeah, that’s rape. Not a “search” for fuck’s sake.
I don’t think it is about that one individual, that is not who they are protecting. They are protecting their absolute right to do whatever they want as a group. They don’t want any erosion or incursion into that. Because if they say what one person of the group is doing is wrong it can bring into question overall…
It’s not “curious” that Warren won’t say middle class taxes will be raised, because middle class expenses will go down significantly (no out-of-pocket medical expenses). Yet the minute she says taxes will be raised, even within the context of the point, the GOP will pounce on the line and use it in every attack ad…
This needs to be at the top
She was able to respond to Biden and the dumb questions in a way that wouldn’t come off as too snarky or “bitchy” to the average viewer. That takes skill and grace that most men can’t even fathom. As we saw with Biden’s embarrassing performance
“And in 2017 Texas cops searched a woman’s vagina, inserting fingers into it, for 11 minutes and found nothing”
This whole exchange was cringe worthy. He’s screaming at her out of nowhere. What is he this defensive about? He keeps side barring “not me” any time she brings up opposition. His defensiveness makes me think he Was shit stirring behind the scenes. Why else would he be so butthurt about this response.
What I found…
I think her teaching/professorial experience is probably really valuable when it comes to answering those kind of dumb questions without coming across as dismissive, because it’s such an essential skill in education.
