My first encounter with Tanith Lee was her YA Wolf Star series, so I was surprised (in a not great way) when I read her well written but super squicky take on Snow White.

The best part about this is that this kinda is how they stress test bridges (at scale rather than actually, but still)
I think they aren't on Netflix anymore :(
A bunch of seasons are on the lifetime app and there are a couple on netflix too.
I don’t think our culture can really “move on” from Barbie, but we’re starting to, for lack of a better word, remix the doll culture for girls, and it’s great.
Nope, that Taylor laid out the case for why voting is important in the midterms by specifically talking about Tennessee races and that’s what inspired people to register in their own states. If she’d written a nationally oriented post, it would have probably read just like every other statement from celebs her…
The power of Taylor Swift’s statement is very much in how local it was. I doubt even if she’d done anything this public in 2016, it’d have been anywhere near as effective. And people were complaining about the timing, but I think posting it so close to the registration deadline is what got people to actually register…
And the leggings too thin for pants make excellent tights/stockings so I haven't bothered with the latter except for fancy/professional situations for years.
“[The word] ‘progressive’ is like a box,” Gulrez says. “It sounds as if there is a progressive Islam, and there is a backward Islam [...] That’s not my experience, because to me what we’re practicing is part of the Quran, is part of the sunnah. So to say ‘progressive’ is too limited and limiting.”

I still need to catch up on stuff, but very curious about Banana Fish ‘cause in my head the manga is so very 80s and curious how faithful the adaptation will be.
Psyched for this ‘cause she’s definitely more representative of the district and she’ll almost definitely win in November.
My college (large urban public uni) is mostly too broke for that sort of thing or it’s hidden so deep in the bureaucracy that you’ve gotta be well connected to know about.
The pro side basically is this: we need to make interning in congress more accessible to students of diverse economic backgrounds. That’s pretty big. But that’s really the only reason to pay them.
What they have in Israel though is Bibi’s full support for this idiocy, which means they’ll have IDF/Mossad/etc. backup, if only quasi-officially.
Curious to know what NY residents think about Cynthia Nixon? Are you guys here for this?
How many of the big pieces of work, as you politely call them, were into Rand and/or Richard Dawkins?
