My 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 gave me the ability to turn the instrumentation lights WAAAAAY down....to the point that it didn’t bother me on my late night multi-hour interstate drives. My current car has a small screen (that turns off), I am not looking forward to buying a new car with car-wide screens.

I drove with Night Panel on (so lights off?) pretty much every night I drove my 2002 9-3. Just the speedo lit up to 90 mph at 3 o’clock on the dial.

“Night panel” on Saabs is my single favorite interior feature of all time. I don’t know of any current vehicle that does anything like that, it’s hard to find cars that even let you turn off the infotainment screen.
