You keep linking to the table of contents of the People’s History (which I, too, read in college), but it would be more helpful if you would point to specific chapters. A couple things though:

1. I am not sure you want to make the “systemic classism has a longer history in American than systemic racism” argument in a country founded on black slave labor. And the very least the two are inextricably linked and poor whites have always fared better than poor people of color.

Um, I don’t think your assertion that the GOP isn’t actively contemptuous of poor white is even remotely true:

Friend, I linked you to a list of legislation taking hatred of women and trying to codify it into law. THAT is the difference. I’m not trying to codify anything into law — these people loathe me and everything I stand for and am, but I still refuse to advocate for legislation to make their lives, their health, their

They are, though. That’s exactly the demand. “Pander to me or I’ll vote Trump.”

Ah yes, I forgot about my most important role as a woman in America: Keep your opinions to yourself and never ever put your own interests first, lest you alienate white male voters.

Honestly, I think one of the worst things to happen this election cycle is Gawker’s decision to become a political blog. HamNo has never written a single thing that hasn’t made me want to vomit.

LOL, ah yes, the reverse-sexist card, so overplayed in this election already.

I disagree, both about her supporters and her actual campaign (as the First Lady of a poor white southern state once upon a time, I’m sure she’ll have no problem having a number of “I feel your pain” moments, and they’ll be honest; she does, in fact, feel their pain and her actual campaign has addressed quite a few

I’m sure they do, really, and I’m sure it’s legit. I just sometimes get really tired of hearing about how white men feel like they don’t have anything anymore. It’s so privileged, and so tone-deaf, and so blind to so much reality.

I’m just a poor white trash motherfucker. No one cares about me.

Bernie, buddy, it is time for you to start fighting this and supporting Hillary. You do not need to drop out, and you do not need to stop campaigning, but you DO need to start working party unity and Democrat support into your stump speeches IMMEDIATELY.

You know the Democratic party essentially invented campaign finance reform and it has always been about making elections only publicly funded, right?

Because this is the first proper indication we have that he knows he’s not going to win the nomination. You don’t shed staff before the general election if you’re going to be the candidate. You just move them around and then put them back in place for general election groundwork. This is a sign from Bernie’s camp that

For a general election campaign, which he knows now he’s not going to run.

I’m just curious if you thought the process was ridiculous in 2008? Because this is the same process as we had in 2008 - literally, the same - and yet somehow people seem utterly shocked that this is what we do every 4 years.

Well, considering Bernie announced his campaign last May and was drawing huge crowds by June, having New Yorkers properly register to vote in their primary by October isn’t that fucking weird.

I would weep tears of joy if we could pass a law limiting the length of primary and general election campaigns. It’s too much. TOO MUCH. TOO MUCH TIME. TOO MUCH ELECTION FATIGUE.
