The switch to Tesla’s standard stateside is at odds with how things work in the European Union and much of the rest of the world. There, Tesla fits its cars with the CCS port, just like almost every other EV maker out there.

FYI you and Gizmodo don’t actually have to report it each time these guys’ market caps switch places temporarily.
At the risk of being labeled a Tesla Stan, this move doesn’t seem like a desperation move at all, except possibly on Ford’s part.
IMHO it’s pretty wild to assume that Tesla’s, or even EVs in general, are bought by MAGA folks. I’d argue that those generally on the far-right are anti-EV.
Cathay Pacific Airlines is an airline from Hong Kong and existed before Hong Kong was a part of China, back when Hong Kong was a British protectorate. They were the second-best airline in the region (and still are), second only to Singapore Airlines.
So what you are saying is that we are about to get a flood of rust free used cars in the rest of the US, and that the poor in California are about to get shafted into expensive EVs that they may not be able to easily charge.
Did you even bother to read any of the text? the answer to your question is literally in the 2nd sentence of the paragraph about the subject.
My understanding is that it wouldn’t apply to used vehicles. I imagine they figure that market forces will eventually work away the remaining ICE vehicles on the roads.
In addition, we all also “feel it” in the form of our health insurance premiums and healthcare costs.
Republican Senator Deb Fischer said “every American consumer will feel the effects of this rule and its price increases.”
2nd gear:
And gas vehicles light on fire at a rate much higher than EVs. I know the owner is irate and wants to vent about it, but a car fire is a risk we all take owning a car.
This is kinda my thought as well. If a gas vehicle lights on fire, do we expect the manufacturer to respond, or just let the owners insurance handle it and converse with them?
I understand why it seems silly, but how are they supposed to do an ‘rca’ without the vehicle? what does this person want Tesla to actually do here?
Maybe they did such a bad job on the Integra because they were actually working on these?
Everything in there says “We like our margins on hybrids more than EVs thank you very much.” The “reasons” will be entirely motivated by maintaining profitability in recessionary times.
I really liked the second gen NSX, but it was A. 10 years too late, and B. the price/performance ratio was a little off to me. A baby version of that car for 60K would be nice.
100% agree, that is why I firmly disagree with “EV is the only way” type people. And Toyota’s messaging is that if people want to reduce carbon emissions as much and quickly as possible, we need to support HEV, PHEV and BEV vehicles. Also Fuel Cells, but that is a different story for a different lifetime at this point.
That’s a clever bit of PR right there.
Honda will globally introduce two sports models, a specialty, and a flagship model.
