so you’re saying that gas isn’t cheap in the US, and that the government doesn’t subsidize oil companies?

How does your argument hold up knowing that Tesla’s $7500 consumer subsidy went away in 2018, and their consumer subsidies went away entirely in 2019. Many states even have a tax penalty during registration time for EVs (often because since they don’t go to the gas station, they don’t pay gasoline use taxes).

It also really helps in the US that gasoline is cheap, oil companies get large chunks of money from the government, and nobody pays the costs of dumping all of those burned hydrocarbons into the atmosphere.

I guess maybe if you’re rocking that whole smoked-taillight look for all your rear lights, this might make sense? Is that it?”

Unlike every other maker, Tesla somehow manages to do their own EPA range tests and submits those numbers to the government to certify. They gamed the system.

I don’t think the test is about efficiency either. It’s like, how close do you come to the EPA range vs their arbitrary test’s range.

Polestar: “Tesla has the lowest score!”

“An ‘independent firm’ hired by Polestar...”

That’s not a test of efficiency, it’s a test of accuracy relative to EPA testing regime.

Yes, the element isn’t completely destroyed and in a perfect system with reclamation you get to keep the platinum... but that doesn’t exist and eventually it gets stripped away or the surface area gets so degraded it’s no longer functional. Destroying the catalyst layer.

Today, California ruled that Uber and Lyft must stop pretending that their drivers are independent contractors and start treating them for what they are: employees.

LG is the supplier for Tesla’s MADE IN CHINA cars.

eh, what in the last few decades points to GM being able to do anything like this competently? The smoke and mirror here is that GM knows that there is so much VC money sloshing around that they hope to fool some rich idiots into giving them more money.

So the Audi carries an additional 1300 pounds, goes 100 miles less, and still costs a minimum of $16,000 more than a long range AWD Model Y ($49,990 before rebates), a car almost exactly the same size (Y is 6" shorter but the same width and height).

I know someone is going to say that Audi’s range estimates are probably more realistic than Tesla’s, but this thing isn’t even in the same league as a Model Y. Now if only Tesla would create a $10k package to add in an HUD and buttons for controls, I’d consider one.

Uh, that’s not what the judge said. Bad reporting.

Wipers can be activated from the stalk, they will also activate automatically because there’s a rain sensor. It’s only the wiper speed (that is also managed by the sensor) that is on the touch screen. Guy wanted to override the speed.

Not only that, but just the completely obtuse stance Raph takes is mind-numbing. Read this:

Holy shit, this. I am no fanboy either but I’m sure I look like it because I feel half my comments these days are calling out Raph and Erik on their crusade against Tesla because... reasons?  This may be the worst take yet.

1st Gear: I’m no apologist for Tesla, trust me. But Tesla has a solid track record of, like, actually manufacturing shit. Maybe not on schedule, and perhaps not with the greatest quality, but building units and pushing them out the door on a daily basis. Nikola? They just broke ground on a manufacturing facility that
