You clearly understand a billion % more about how cars are built than i do but it seems to make intuitive sense that your inputs will lead to your outputs in manufacturing. If you build quality to begin with you will cut down on your warranty issues once cars leave the lot.

Agreed, it’s a bit silly. Warranty costs are usually a product of culture/process issues in engineering and/or purchasing.

It’s been decades since the Japanese brands taught the big three a lesson about the cost savings associated with simply using better parts suppliers, setting higher engineering and testing standards, and operating more efficient plants, and apparently they’ve still not learned anything.

Bought a new car in 2018 - considered a Focus, liked Hyundai’s Elantra GT more so I bought that instead - in the market for a second car for my spouse right now. And we’re not looking at the crap Ford’s selling.

Man, somebody at Toyota is gonna be really pissed when they find out they got duped into spending $400M on an Adobe Illustrator file.

Forget all the McLaren liveries, we need to bring back the Silk Cut Jaaaaaaaags.

It’s a machine learning system; we’ll tell you what the limitations are after a few billion real-world test miles.  Unless we update the software first.

The NTSB isn’t really blaming Apple for the “who’s driving?” problem, which nobody, including the NTSB, has a solution for. They’re blaming Apple for not having specific HR policy for operating a motor vehicle for the purpose of commuting to and from the office.

Right. I was 100% on board until they got to Apple. Still agree with everything else, but how is a phone supposed to know if it’s being used by a driver? I should be the car manufacturer’s job to make sure their cars aren’t crashing into things, not the phone manufacturer’s job to make sure people are paying attention

This is all very good to hear and backs up what most people and writers here have been saying for the past few years.

Rather bland compared with the DS9 concept promised a few years ago

Also, since when is the new Genesis massive-ass diamond-shaped grille “really lighting” anything up? It’s a worse version of the Acura diamond bucktooth grille, and that was met with some major criticism.

Fucking up on those critical products is more important to the bottom line than 20 years of unproven technology.

Clearly, Jalopnik is pro-dealer when it involves Tesla,”

not the only who did it though

Ok.
