BBT is horribly sexist in it's treatment of those characters though. i agree it's improved a lot since they added more than just the "token hotty". I watch it because it's easy entertainment but I find the level of male gaze and subtle homophobia difficult to swallow most of the time.

I was watching Alien the other day for the first time, and was totally shocked that the three surviving crew members (for a time) were 2 women and 1 black man. And that was 1979! I was shocked that that would STILL be something you just don't see in a movie.

Having said that, my husband and I had our kid totally unexpectedly. We'd hardly ever discussed kids before we got pregnant. It all worked out. You can overthink this stuff.
