@cupscake: People do incredibly stupid things when they're young. Your brain isn't fully matured until you're 25, and until then your ability to make decisions is not all there. Also, he wasn't exactly in a nurturing, open-minded environment. As long as he came out the other side understanding his mistakes and

@72747: The skeletons are each holding a stone in their hand, one black and one white.

Adam and Eve's black and white stones have me thinking that they're the previous island caretakers/guardians. The predecessors of Smokey and Jacob.

@CremeBruDont: Ketosis isn't great for weightloss, though. Burning muscle for energy while retaining fat isn't the greatest idea.

@Oleander: They may not start out as abusers, but people can be indoctrinated into a belief system that pushes them to do things they otherwise would not. The Christian Patriarchy movement is a *cult*. They bring people in, start them on the easy stuff and slowly ramp up to teaching that women are only meant for

@MadameU: It's not, but "schweinehund" is a common insult in Germany. This whole thing just seems like a set-up for the schweinehund punchline.

Gah, Diflucan isn't "harmless," it's an antimicrobial, and promotes resistance in fungi. Use it enough and you'll wind up with resistant yeast, and then you're really screwed. I've seen it happen, and it's not fun.

@PaigeTurner: Well, the fact that he owned Locke's company and knew Locke's boss (and that he was a douchebag) makes me think he knows the underings and thus would have known Rose, too. Perhaps they said hello on the plane but that wasn't shown to us.

Anybody know who makes Gabby's dress? This is *precisely* the style I've been hunting down for a new summer frock.

@lalie (apologetic mess): Yeah, I was reading it as similar to the old fairy tale, about the man who's trapped rowing the boat back and forth across the river, and the only way he can stop is to find a replacement. Jacob and Esau (or whoever) are trapped as island caretakers until they can convince someone to take the
