Ooh, I love #15. But then, I've always been a fan of pinstripe and anything menwear-inspired but really feminine. Also, genius on the thigh-highs with trains. I would rock those all over town. And I'm already trying to figure out how much those wooly sunglasses in #6 would have to cost for me to afford them.

@welshdiminutiveofMargaret: My experience after a decade in scientific research is that there are as many god-believers as non-believers in the lab. Yesterday a woman in my department was talking about how the structure of DNA proves to her that there is a god, which is not an uncommon sentiment.

@NellMood: Oh god, the subway mental picture is fucking killing me. I can't stop laughing.

@greatsheelephant: It's been a while since I trolled ebay for designer goods, but my experience is that about 90% of the designer stuff on ebay is fake, and if it's selling for much under retail it's probably too good to be true. Every time I've browsed for skull scarves on ebay the legit ones are going for around

@Penny: Yesterday I read the news and immediately bought a scarf. I've wanted one for years and could never justify the expense. Since there may not be more made and the price will only go up, now's the time. The first designer bag I bought was the original Novak bag, which I cherish and refuse to box up in a closet

I don't think I ever saw it outside of the runway, but my favorite McQueen dress was the houndstooth/bird ballgown from the Fall 2009 collection. There was also a slim pencil dress with the same pattern, but this gown just blew my mind when I saw it.

@raineoffire: I don't know what you're talking about, I always make sure my cashmere and leather is perfectly put together before I take the pooch for walkies.

@redqueenmeg: Every job I've had, including camp counselor, preschool teacher, barista, and lab tech have all had the "lift and carry 50 lbs" rule. I've never seen it used to deny a woman a job.

@kittenlove: The national average has only gone up 5 cents since I was in 8th grade, 18 years ago. Perhaps it's going up, but not terribly fast.

@vamvaki_poulaki: Yeah, it's bananas (also, I die). It may have to do with the styles I've tried on (none of which were pants, now that I think about it), but my ladylumps have plenty of room in my size small MbMJ tops, but they're usually too big for other designers' large tops.

@vamvaki_poulaki: Not sure about the Marc Jacobs main label, but the Marc by Marc stuff runs pretty big. In normal designer sizing I'm a large (sometimes pushing XL), in MbMJ I'm a small, with room to spare.

@mordicai: Yeah, that seems to have died before really happening. There was a brief surge in multiethnic models in the late 90's, but now it's firmly pale skin or dark skin and no in-between. It's all about extremes.

My nook checks for new periodicals and plays music in the background. My ancient Sony Reader also plays music in the background, so I assume the Daily Edition must, too. If these don't count as multitasking, neither should the iPad's background functions.

@Leucadia: *and* those shitty diet meals frequently have two servings in them. The "smart ones" quesedillas and pockets actually say "put the other one back in the freezer" in the instructions. The "fatty" at the end of that statement is implied. They're like 240 calories per pocket.

@Kathkin: ooooh, Alan Rickman. He's my radio boyfriend.

@hooRay: OMG I thought I was the only one.

@MTmom: See, the funny thing is that I have subsisted on cigarettes and champagne and lettuce and I still wasn't rail thin.

@laurascr: Short answer: yes. Also, some stores use a color-coded system for different body types.

@triplethreat: Even if that someone was her (and do you honestly think she said to the art director: "you'd better photoshop the SHIT out of this"?), my comment is still relevant.
