My 80 C10 short bed with a built small block got about 9mpg. My 2012 Jeep with 4.56 gears and 37s does 17mpg haha.
These are the stories i love Jalopnik for.
2nd gear: We’re sitting at seemingly the crest of of high sales numbers for cars, and a jittery world economy, let alone or own. Vehicle sales slowing inevitable at this point and usually domestic automakers are sketchy when such things start happening.
I sold my nice original 79 with bubbled paint 15 years ago for $6k. They’re still out there and not that rare, but are getting harder to find. I would say probably $8k is all the money I would pay.
I had one of these. They’re fun, however they ride like a buck board, can somehow rust in a dry climate, and you better be handy with tools. They’re reliable, but still a bitch to work on for things like the leaking exhaust manifold, axle reseal, etc. I sold mine 15 years ago for half what this guy wants. They are…
$18K and its had the timing chain guides done, and the troublemaker automatic replaced with a manual, AND it has a supercharger? Sure it probably needs some tidying up, and of course it has a tan interior but thats a lot of wagon for $18k.
I’ve heard some fantastic sounding sixes, but nothing compares to the wail of a properly built V8, except a proper motorsports V10 or V12....
Oh these things will never be used as a true work truck. Infact I hear they’re terrible for towing. If a contractor has one, rest assured hes just there to collect your $30,000 check, and then he sends in the subs with their 15 yearold Silverados and F150s.
Haha can you imagine sliding all over the bench seat doing that?
Don’t bro me bro.
By work, I hammer down in the desert in 100* heat. Both guys I know with Raptors drive them like they’re stolen, which is good. Im sure there’s an equal set that have never seen dirt though.
With a Raptor? Its a muscle truck. V8 is a must have. Power isn’t the be all/end all. The noise of a V8 with a proper exhaust screaming is music.
Exactly. I wouldn’t drive through 12" of water moving that fast.
Catch this dumb fuck and charge him with two counts of attempted murder, and one count of murder for that poor 300ZX.
I will agree with that. 4 door has a big belly. Rumor around the camp fire is a 2dr JK on 33s has the same belly clearance on breakover as a JK on 37s.
Falkens new MT. Great tire. However if you need a good all around and not just rocks and mud, I recommend Goodyear Duratracs. I had a set and they are fantastic in pretty much everything. Sand, mud, snow, even rocks.
