I understand where they are coming from, but isn’t this a simple “don’t read”/”don’t let it get to you”? (Second one in case you actually read it.)

So ok, fine, some assholes are commenting, let’s just stop reading/answering altogether. The people with legitimate complaints and opinions can go fuck themselves.

And this

Whether or not you are vulnerable to that specific marketing ploy is not the point. And whether they are doing a bad job of utilizing that strategy by putting mediocre items up there isn’t the point either. The point is that they tried to do it. Failure at using properly using a slimey method doesn’t mean that they

No, I absolutely did not. I said that if you are representing yourself on social media as a member of a company, rather than as a person, you should EXPECT to get comments back on the work you are discussing. And that you should respond to that feedback in a professional way, or stop representing yourself as a member

Have you seem the mess that Anthem’s loot system is, and the pricing on their micro-transaction store? It’s pretty clear that they designed that game so that the farmable loot would look very generic, that the grind to buy the shop gear would be crazy, and that, along with the rotating shop (which puts pressure on

If you release a game that isn’t finished and charge full price for it (and pepper it with micro-transactions, to boot), and then do very little in the way of meaningful apologies or commitments to improvements, AND if you’re a mega-publisher whose gotten ripped on many times in the past for doing the same unethical

People like yourself who are replying to almost every comment, regardless of context, are essentially accusing them of personal attacks or death threats against devs.  That is absolutely you building a strawman to attempt to invalidate their legitimate criticisms of publishers and studios, by claiming their opinion is

My expectation was to get a game that wasn’t buggy.

Allow me to voice my dissatisfaction to you:

That’s a lot of five dollar words and references to overrated literature just to prove to me that you didn’t understand my chief complaint. Try again son.

Yes. And now they are giving people options to buy specifically what they want. Many gamers play only as 1 or 2 fighters, or they dont care about story mode.

Saving money for a new house, maybe your mommy will be able to afford one soon kid.

I have a mortgage, a car payment, bills, a wife, and occasionally I like to travel and do other fun things. I can’t afford to buy every single game that comes out, even with a decent paying job. So when I decide to use some of my money to pay up on a game, I expect that I will, at least, get a product that isn’t shit

You’re referring to how digital distribution has cut down development costs by 50% or more in some cases because physical distribution (production, logistics AND retailers) are no longer slicing out their significant chunks of the pie?

They released a shell of a game for 60 dollars in an alpha state that followed a debut and trailers that misrepresented the content. It’s a broken incomplete mess and the developers should know better than to play victim here.

Which I said nowhere in that comment, you petulant child.

I’ve got a good one, but it’s fun to needle you sensitive lot. Makes for some cheap entertainment on my day off.

Strawman

This. Are people being nasty in the sub? Yes, some of them are. But most people are just upset Bioware misled expectations and basically lied about their game in pre-release. They made a broken shitty game and they knew it, so of course people are going to be annoyed.

Dear Bioware, how about you start releasing games that are stable, complete, and aren’t trying to scalp people of money again, and try to build up some good will, rather than sticking your heads in the sand because “people are mean to us on the internet.” There will always be people mean to other people on the

Aw, poor thing. I guess they didn’t expect to catch so much heat over the garbage product they released to unsuspecting customers.
