“God can find a way”
I agree. I am an adoptive parent via international adoption, some of the families we traveled with to adopt have been on the waiting child list for domestic infant adoption for nearly a decade. While it is sweet that church members feel a connection, when there are childless couples that have been living for the call…
I almost killed my mom being born, and what saved us was doctors and surgery, not God. Sitting around and praying would have just resulted in her dying. Saying it was “God’s will” I survived implies all the mothers and babies who didn’t survive the same thing were somehow not favored by god, not that they didn’t get…
I dare her to look into the eyes of a young girl bleeding to death laying next to her stillborn baby and say ‘God can find a way’
I understand the feeling. Especially in the age of the internet.
I mean it wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened. It used to be relatively normal to be raised by the church. My Uncle was raised by nuns and he went on to live a normal life, raise a family and look after his “Aunties” at the church in their old age as well as help with any repairs the church needed. He didn’t have…
They are not pro-life. They are pro-birth. Once you’re born, you’re on your own.
Not to mention that the officer who was killed was himself a devout Christian who was not in favor of abortion, but he did his job and gave his life trying to protect the people in that clinic, because that’s part of being a fucking professional.
The pro-lifer types who are celebrating this do not give a damn. They never will.
Thank you for being an escort. With all my heart, thank you.
Congrats pro-lifers! You have created orphans.
The fucked up thing, they absolutely would
This makes me so sad and so fucking angry. Peace to their families. I’d wish for justice too but I’m not that naive.
There are people who place their names on a list to foster-to-adopt with state agencies. They can specify their preference of the age/gender of the child or baby they would like to have.
That was my thought as well. Having to grow up having every one around you know that your mother abandoned you can’t be a good thing.
Why would members of this church have any more claim to the baby than anyone else (who may already be on the waiting list for a baby through the state’s social services)?
Thanks, I will check it out!
I know that Gawker now wants to cover politics but I also know that all of us readers of Jezebel prefer to read about shity GOP candidates not even reacting to this shooting at The Slot.
“Especially for those (of) us in the pro-life movement”
