I did a couple of years in prison for drug stuff. You would think that walking out of the prison a free man was the most liberating feeling I have ever had. Incorrect. The most liberated I have ever felt is when, after 6 years of doing some combination of all of these things listed EVERY TIME I DROVE THE CAR, I

Symmetry and cheekbones, always. Hair can't hide that.

No

I’ll leave this here.

Sci-fi-face

Looks like a weird makeup shoot to me where it’s all about artistry or whatever. I’m also white, so I feel like I shouldn’t really have a say in what constitutes black face. I’d like to hear from everyone else though. /confused

Yea... That's straight up silver. Robot face?

I'm white, but that doesn't look like blackface to me...?

Nothing right now because my stomach has decided to reject alcohol. But ideally, 1-2 glasses of wine or a good stout on Friday and Saturday night. And a day/night of way too much wine three nights a year (trips out of town with husband, office Christmas party). I’m early 30s and Canadian.

People, I am sick. Like so, so sick, and all of my illnesses seem to be Holiday Adjacent, which is making me paranoid as far as work goes. I have been in bed all week with body aches, headaches, fever, and a nasty cough.

It’s kind of baffling that we haven’t figured out that tiny humans aren’t all the same, just like full-sized humans aren’t all the same.

My MIL kept pestering me with rice cereal when my sons were newborns. When I would patiently explain to her that solids are not suggested before 6 months she acted like I was some sort of hippy. I actually AM a bit of a hippy but the no solids thing is pretty widely accepted.

If that team is Team Do Whatever Works for You, then good!

Absolutely. I co-slept with mine and after the first kid, I said “fuck sleep training.” I’m not hung up on sleeping. People get really narked about it. I had people tell me to stop breastfeeding so the baby would sleep more. Well, no. I never complained about their sleeping, and you don’t have to be with them.

I am on your team.

My view, having had one awful sleeper and one medium bad sleeper: you do what you like but you might think you’ve done sleep training and find out you just had a chilled out baby. I know lots of smug well-slept parents who told me I was just doing it wrong and came back, hollow-eyed, to apologise when baby 2 wouldn’t

Biggest point of contention: babies are not all the same. They have different needs.

What takes real guts it to do what works for you, your baby, and your family, while politely ignoring the inevitable criticism, because no matter what you choose, someone will tell you that you are doing it wrong.

Food trends are an easy thing to hate. They immediately conjure up thoughts of "foodie" culture, $6 cupcakes, and
