Yeh. I know that got a lot of press but I do think the Merc power plant had a lot to do with it along with the chasis. Reuben and Jensen were pretty vocal about the power difference with the Merc engine in the chasis.
That was not a result of a decision she made, that was the bean counters. She was however up front and center to correct the issue, which made it appear that it was her decision that caused it.
Huh? Not meeting goals is OK? Setting unrealistic goals is OK?

Classic Kimi.
I think Monisha Kaltenborn has done fantastic given the circumstances with finances. She appears to be the glue that’s holding Sauber together or at least the only Leader on the Team to openly acknowledge their issues and be vocal enough to try and get things done to improve the situation. My hat’s off to her. She…
Good point.
To be fair McLaren did dictate the packaging to meet their aero targets. I’m not sure why the F14T’s set-up that heavily sacrificed engine architecture / power for aero gain wasn’t a case study, it turned out to be a “turd” as well. Who knows, given the aero changes for 2017 the size-zero will show itself a winner...…
Sorry. I disagree. Elon has great ideas, and maybe he’s intelligent, but for all those “smarts” he still hasn’t figured out how to run a business. His ideas seem more about his ego and showing people he’s smart than making money. Tesla? Let’s take a Lotus body, bridge a bunch of batteries together, cram them in the…
To be clear Hamilton is the type of driver who does more to force his line and make the other driver flinch rather than out maneuver. This is his MO and he does it where and when he can. He picks his line and creates conflict with the other driver in regards to sticking with what they are doing or colliding with him -…
Those people aren’t Engineers they’re individual contributors and better off not being part of a Team.
Huh? Read the rest of my responses. It takes a Team to win... Driver being one of those.
Just think, all the swearing... I mean work, will make it that much more enjoyable when complete. Love the vid updates. Respect your heart for saving these cars. If you think about it its like going to the pound and rescuing an old dog everyone else has given up on. Mad Respect.
Sorry. I had no ill will behind my initial comment or any thereafter. No way to understand tone from text. We do earn some of the reputation we’re given though... at least for me early in my career. They, F1, Engineers do have to design in a box due to FIA rules but typically the order is to go as fast as efficiently…
I’m aware of these definitions sir. While accurate definitions indeed they do not identify most “customer” dynamics which I guess answers my question from your POV. From my experience, as an Engineer, in Team environments the Team works together to accomplish the goal - the driver would be a member of Team in this…
Yeh. Agreed. They do work the seat lower though because of his height as well as the footwell due to his feet. I can’t believe what I thought was an innocent comment turned into Engineers being defensive. Of course for aero and center of mass the Engineer wants the driver as low as possible... and so does the driver…
I guess that’s why the FIA set limitations on nose height a few years ago. The “customers” wanted the nose that high?
Which customer? FIA? Driver? Team? Speed?
