I'm travelling the weekend so I'm off today and tomorrow.
Oh excellent, I was wondering when the "kill yourself" comments would start. Took longer than I thought
When I say service I'm mostly speaking of their attitude. I mentioned somewhere else that I tend to not go to a sit down place unless I have spare time, so I'm not usually rushing.
No I mention it right away and ask, but if the food comes out and it isn't what I asked for I send it back.
That's fine. Then change the industry. If you are depending on your ability to be not rude and not a dick to people for your livelihood, and can't do that or feel like you shouldn't have to, then find a different job.
I thought I corrected that somewhere else. I meant to say I don't send food back unless it's somehow sub par and not edible, and I don't not tip unless the service is terrible.
Yeah, that's what I said. Hence 2-3 times in the 5 years I've been traveling around. I never said it's something I do all the time. That's the internet pitchfork and torches crowd clamoring for something to call an asshole.
All I'm saying is be decent at your job. I refuse to pay on top of what I am already paying if you are rude or shitty at your job. That's all I'm saying. Be decent at what you do. Not even good, or extraordinary. Just tow the fucking line. That's it.
I meant to say I send food back if something is wrong with it, and tip poorly if the server is shit. I apologize for the confusion, no I don't blame the server for my food. I get they don't cook it.
Woofah. Can't compete with your scathing pop culture references.
You do know I've NOT tipped 2 or 3 times in 5 years right? It's not something I do on weekends. It's a rare occasion.
No but that's why I chose a career where I didn't have to deal with that. It's not my duty to correct the unfair wages in the service industry
Thanks, the Mr. Pink joke is so unique and witty
If I don't tip they will say "That asshole didn't tip"
Frankly I give a shit how they work. It's simple. If I get decent to good service I tip well. If I get horrible service I don't tip. If you want a tip, be decent at your job. That's it.
Then you shouldn't be a dick to customers if you are making a living off of what people think of your service. You realize you are responsible for your own actions right? If you want people to leave you good tips, be a good waiter. It's not complicated.
I don't mind if people don't agree with me, I'm shedding no tears for the insults suffered. I get the "always tip no matter what" side of it, I just don't agree.
You do know no one is holding a gun to their head and walking them into the restaurant. They can find a different job if they don't like the circumstances of their employment. Same way I can.
By your logic, if my tires fall off, I should still pay the guy who put them on because, well, you don't really understand how difficult his job is.
If they put the tires on my car, and they fell off as I drove away, I would also not want to pay for that service, because it was shitty.
