Off-TV play for WiiU is awesome. I prefer playing all the VC games directly on the Gamepad for some reason. The experience is different than "on another TV."
That and, personally, I don't want a house filled with TVs.

I just love being able to turn on the Gamepad without even turning the TV on and just cozy up on the couch and dive into some Super Metroid or Mega Man X or whatever... I love that feeling alot more than I thought I would.

I agree with you in some ways, but really - it was on N to GIVE people a reason to buy a WiiU. I like the WiiU a LOT, I still have high hopes for it, but they definitely bungled the launch and rollout of the little guy.
