And Lucid... Really, how do consumers put up with this? I think most people simply don’t know about it. You would think that Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, etc. would get together for a nation wide ad blitz highlighting things like this and then show how dealers are marking up vehicles by $50-100k etc. and people would become

This has nothing to do with cops and everything to do with lawmakers.

Yeah, Hyundai is really putting the pressure on lol.

Becausethis is jalopnik, I'm sure the reason for the crash is Tesla Autopilot/FSD right??

I have never used it or seen it for that matter”

This!  Tesla doesn’t provide it because they don’t need to.  Their system works great and I much prefer it to my other cars with AA.  And, for those who don’t agree and want another solution, you can follow posts on the web like this and roll your own solution.  Its a win-win.

1st gear. You’re comparing a $4k electric K car to a model 3. Yeah, that’s an apples to apples comparison for sure.

There are always big and small cars. We went through the same hysteria when SUVs started to get popular.

Well, thanks again. You might be the first person who has changed someone’s mind via a discussion on the internet :)

Thanks for the links.

For your point about the damage a 9k vehicle will do, does anyone have a link to any actual data about this? This strikes me like the people who double and triple masked. If one mask is good, 2 or 3 must be better right? If a car weighs double most others, it must be doing more damage to roads right? Maybe. Is it

Exactly.  No one buys those vehicles because they are so bland.  If you only have 25k to spend, most people buy a much nicer low mileage used car instead of the base new car.

There is.  If you have a destination in the nav, you don’t get this.  If you want to just charge more, you can override the limit.  You can even do it from your phone.

Tesla has done this for years at busy super chargers. When you connect your car, it gives you a message and sets the charge limit to 80%. If you have a route set in the nav that requires more than that, you get no message and it charges to whatever you need. If you just want to charge more than 80%, you can change the

At first, I was a little miffed that he seemed to care more about the cat than the humans in the car but then I thought about the type of people that would do such a stupid thing and now don’t have any issue. The cat was the only intelligent thing in that car.

I think (hope) dealers are burning themselves with these tactics coming out of the pandemic. Buying a car now is a significantly worse experience than any time in the past. So much so that people will not soon forget and will likely hold politicians accountable that support dealers/lobbyist. That combined with the new

With Torch gone, Jalopnik needs someone new to write crap articles about Tesla. Looks like it’s going to be Erin’s job.

Just to clarify, the gov mandated sound always plays.  You just have the option to play other sounds on top of it so there was no risk of uploading a silent MP3 to avoid making any noise.

I didn’t say anything about the cause for the protest. People think it’s fine to block traffic when it’s for a reason they agree with but get outraged when it’s for something they don’t like it.

And, if this was Antifa/BLM doing it, liberals would argue their cause is just and people should be inconvenienced. Paybacks a bitch isn’t it.
