Sneakers?   We all know that every single one of those 2980 containers was carrying some real nice home theater speakers...

Now playing

I hate to say this, but years ago when I lived in an areaa that just got missed by a tornado, I did some research on using a Conex box as a tornado shelter. Long story short. Non-optimal solution.

You can score a sweet phone from a beach in France.  These are old enough to be collector’s items now (and yes, it was a container that fell overboard).

Cost more to build, take longer to pay off.

If you keep telling people about my mole castle, there won’t be any room for you when the aliens invade.

This feels appropriate:

Stranger: Psst! Hey, you! Yes you! Want to buy some new sneakers or some new clothes? They’re all brand new.

Also to blame, IMO, is the fact that dock workers are being pressured to work faster to keep up with volume.  That results in corners being cut and maybe containers not being secured correctly.

M dad tried to sell Lancias in the early 80's and he still complains about them out of nowhere. So I own a Lancia (not this one but @Torch if you are ever in the NorthEast you are welcome to take it for a drive) and EVERYTHING is ridiculously over engineered. It’s what makes them great. It’s the attention to detail while totally missing the point that makes them one of the greatest brand marquees ever. If you

Ehhh, the Berlina is just a Chevy Citation.

Not to stereotype, but Italy is where the Mafia originated. The Mafia is known for using the trunk as an additional passenger compartment. I’m pretty sure this was a measure intended to increase the comfort and enjoyment of trunk passengers.

Based on the photographs, maybe it is so you can see out the back while the trunk lid is raised? ::shrugemoji:: I don’t know if 1970s Italy had home improvement centers (“Deposito di casa! Come la gente fare di più!”), but maybe that’s how they got lumber, potting soil and flowers home.

There is a perfectly Italian explanation for the rear window:
